Colour is my morning coffee! As an artist , the first thing I consider when I am about to paint is "What colours do I want to use for this project?" Colour wakes me up. It energizes me.
I came to be an artist by chance, when I was invited to attend an artist workshop, and even though I had never studied art, I agreed to attend the course. I did not know how to draw or paint, but I was thoroughly mesmerized by the colours and textures of the various art materials. In fact, that course became a tipping point in my life, as soon after I retired from my successful career in finance, and enrolled in art school I came to art by chance, but I stay an artist by choice.
My subject matter changes from landscapes and florals to large colourful abstracts like my recent "Bubbling Up" series. I paint in a variety of mediums, but mostly oil or acrylic. My paintings have been featured in juried shows in Canada and the US. I am a member of the Ontario Society of Artists and North Toronto Group of Artists.
